Dazed and confused of all this stuff
Okay so I played GW for a long time, I started off by purchasing GW nightfall and I realized that there were other previous GW. Now these are my questions.
Answer as much as you would like to. 1) What's the point with titles? 2) If i were to keep items that I know that collectors will exchange for armor and weapons. Then sell the weapons and armor for money. Would this strategy help me get more money easily? 3) Is it worth buying keys than buying lockpicks? I am at a point that I am buying luxon keys. 4) I chose luxon as my path, so do i even bother with entering into the kurzicks field? 5) I do not like repeating things, I do not even like repeats on my favourite show. So is there a quick guide to finish nightfall, becuase I jumped from nightfall to factions (way funner for me) and i want some assassin skills from nightfall. 6) What is the point of unlocking heroes, skills, items when you have to earn them first? I remember I unlocked a skill and i did not get it, until I capped it from a monster. 7) Are there missions and quests that take less than an hour, because that is basically the amount of time I play a day. If not, what would you recommend me doing to pass the time? 8) Is it true that there no skills or characters that stand above the rest you just got to know how to use them? 9) I have like 40 unused skill points and not that much cash is it worth getting more skills than i already have? I am like half way done the game (I think) I have around 20-25 skills. 10) how do i know if some quests are unneccessary to do? |

1) E-peen, and preperations for H (all) o (f) M (onuments). Getting titles now, means a small reward in GW2
2) Depends. Usually trading in the items for the collecters items WILL net you more money, but sometimes, you're really better off just selling the items alltogether. Wiki is your friend when it comes down to this, it has all collecters items + their merchant value. 3) Lockpicks have a chance of being re-usable. In other words, you're playing a game of chance. In theory, you we're to be able to open 1,000,000 chests with only 1 lockpick, whereas you would have bought 1,000,000 regular keys. At the same time, you can also BREAK your lockpick every time you open a chest, then you would have been better off with the keys. Either way, Lockpicks are the only way of getting progress towards the Lucky/Unlucky title tracks, so that's why people usually use them so much. 4) Luxon, Kurzick, it really doesn't matter all that much. At the end of the day, it's "just a game", it's not like one day, someone will knock on your door, wanting to beat you up because you're a dirty "suxon". Anet did a bad job on really implementing Luxon and Kurzick sides. The only thing that really matters, is the guild you are in. (Wether or not it's Kurzick or Luxon) You CAN'T do AB for the opposite side of your guild. At the same time, tough, you can guest for another guild, that's part of the opposite allegiance, making it completely pointless to have them in the first place. It's just bad design, don't break your head over Kurzick/Luxon issues, the feud has been going on for the past 1,000 years orso, it won't stop anytime soon 5) If you don't like repeating things, I'm going to be deadhonest, and make a bold statement: GW is NOT the game for you. All 3 campaigns can be beaten, casual play, in a month orso. That's really slacking it aswell. Once you've been through the campaigns, there's not really to be done in GW, besides title grinding, which is the same as any other game: Click a few times, move a round a bit, pick up items, repeat. Don't get me wrong, GW is a GOOD game, and you'll definatly enjoy the storylines, as they are simply a really long, and good, movie in a way. Regardless, if you don't feel like sticking around till GW2, you're better of not starting with GW now. 6) Unlocking is something ACCOUNT-BASED. Once you UNLOCKED something, your account has it UNLOCKED for "eternity", for the rest of your accounts active days. Actually HAVING the skills/items/upgrades is CHARACTER BASED. Once you HAVE an item, it will automaticly because UNLOCKED, however, UNLOCKING an item, doesn't mean you will HAVE it on every character. The reason why they have this system, is mainly for PvP characters. In the beginning of GW, there was no real way of starting a PvP character. There was no way to unlock skills, and you couldn't really earn alot of "faction" by killing stuff, because you didn't have that good of a build to begin with. Thus, to make it easier for people, once you unlocked something in PvP, you can automaticly use it for all your PvP characters, that way, you don't have to redo stuff over and over again on PvP characters. Note: Having EVERYTHING unlocked on your acount is usually a requirement for PvP-guilds, and will often be referred to as UAX. (Unlocked Across All Professions/Characters) 7) Yes, if you know what you're doing, and simply don't "leeroy in there", you can do most quests and missions within the hour. I'm even pretty sure EVERY quest and mission of the NORMAL storyline can be done in under an hour. Don't expect to do serious PvP, or high-end PvE missions tough, because they can take well over 2-3 hours. You don't need to do these tough, and they're only there for the "amusement" of the bored. 8) It's a utopic concept to assume EVERY skill and character is "balanced", i.o.w: equal. Guild Wars is far from tough. In PvE, there's the saying: "Everything Goes", simply meaning: "Everything goes". No matter what you run, you'll kill stuff. It doesn't take a genius to see, tough, that what 1 skill reads: -5 Energy, 1 Cast Time, 10 Recharge: Do 100 Damage to Target Foe. and then another one reads: -5 Energy, 1 Cast Time, 10 Recharge: Do 200 Damage to Target Foe. that the second one is far better than the top one. This is the skill balance in GW on a really basic concept. There is certain skills that are SIMPLY BETTER than others, and thus you're simply better off bringing the better one. This is where PvX-wiki comes in: You can look up good builds for your profession there, and see what is effective, and whatnot. 9) Usually you're better of just playing THROUGH the intire game, and then buying skills which you would like to have. This is intirely up to you, and if you don't need a certain skill, well don't buy it 10) In your Quest log, you see different kinds of quest types, Eg: -Kournan Quests: -Vabbi Quests: and also the group: -Primary Quests. It's these (Primary Quests) that are NEEDED to continue the story line, any quest that is NOT a PRIMARY QUEST is NOT NEEDED. (UNLESS a Primary Quest specificly tell you to do another quests, a non-primary that is) |

1. Primarily showing off your achievements, though some of them will give you bonuses and other's will effect the duration/damage of PvE skills.
2. Since the influx of new players are dropping and gold, inscribable items are getting cheaper I would say no. It might however be a good idea to look through the lists and find items to collect for equipping your own heroes. 3. I prefer lockpicks as these give you un-/lucky points for your titles. If you look up Lockpicks on Wiki, there's a calculation of the retainment rates that you might find helpful. 4. The story line of Factions will require you to complete quests in both areas. 5. There are excellent guides on Wiki with complete walk-throughs of primary quests and missions. 6. When you unlock skills and heroes with Faction, you do so for PvP only. To make them available for PvE, you must unlock them in regular game-play. 7. The time required for quests ands missions vary greatly. Unfortunately I've not come across a list of expected completion times. I recommend you join a guild where you can ask these questions as they arise. 8. People will argue for days about what character class is the best and what builds to use. Mostly it depends on personal preference and ability to use the options your class and skillbar present optimally. 9. Some of the skills are good and other's are probably not worth getting,- it is all up to your own preferences. But remember: more skills equals more options. 10. Quests are divided into two categories: primary quests and quests. You have to do the primary quests to advance in the storyline. Normal quests are optional. Edit: forgot the link to Wiki |

Some titles, such as the Lightbringer, Asuran, Norn, etc., have skills associated with them that become more powerful as you increase your title rank. (They don't need to be max to be effective.)
Some, such as the Vanquisher, Protector, Skill Hunter, etc. titles, let you keep track of various accomplishments in game. Some titles, such as Drunkard, Party Animal, Sweet Tooth, etc., have no practical value other than just for the sake of having them or helping toward your "Titles" title. Quote:
